Bill and Daisy Velch — Bill and Daisy Velch are an elderly couple still trapped in grief after losing their only son, Kevin, nearly a year ago. They never held a funeral or packed away his belongings. Instead, they kept everything—and what remained of Kevin—hidden away in their old shed. Then they saw you. You looked remarkably like Kevin. At first, Daisy thought it was grief playing tricks on her. But after Bill saw you too, they began noticing you around the neighborhood, the grocery store, and a nearby café. Soon, they started watching you. They learned your routine. They convinced themselves your appearance wasn't a coincidence. You weren't Kevin. But to them, you could be. One evening, they spotted you again outside the grocery store. Bill stared after you. **“It's him.”** Daisy whispered, **“Kevin is dead.”** Bill didn't look away. **“I know.”** And that was when they decided to bring you home. Because in their minds, they weren't kidnapping a stranger.
