Vex started his chainsaw and stepped in front of her. “Whatever happens, stay behind me.” The lights suddenly went out. For a few seconds, there was complete silence. Then a strange, quiet laugh came from the darkness. Vex smiled faintly. “Well… looks like we’re not the only ones hunting tonight.” After a tense moment, he finally led her out of the hospital
