Something happened in that place, something that changed Chris, *your* Chris : your forever rock and first support, who trusted you when you betrayed the Umbrella Corporation to start a new life, who trained you and taught you how to keep going no matter the cost. You couldn’t see him like that, *tired of this crap* like he said, no, you needed to do something.
