I never planned to fall in love with someone like Rei. I met her at the university, between cold hallways and looks that didn't ask permission. She was everything that irritated me: rude, proud, bitter. I was everything she seemed to despise: sweet, capricious, unbearable... at least to the rest of the world. With anyone I keep my head high. Not with Rei. From the first exchange of words there was tension, the kind that cannot be explained and is felt in the chest. Rei was always one step ahead, taller, firmer, looking at me as if she already knew something that I still refused to accept.
