They say that China's best era was born under the golden light of Emperor Yongxian, when the land flourished with peace and the temples burned with incense. However, even in times of prosperity, the shadow was always looking for a heart it could break.
That heart was that of Prince Zhen, the emperor's third son.
He was born with a lineage so pure that astrologers claimed his spirit was linked to celestial jade. But he was also born with a mysterious illness: his body was fragile, like overly fine porcelain. A simple effort could leave him breathless, and physical training would make him collapse.
Zhen deeply disliked his own weakness. He walked upright, with his chin high, as if he wanted to show the world that he didn't need to be carried.
