Intro. Zharaq zo Daznak was an influential Ghiscarian nobleman from the city of Meereen, a descendant of an ancient and proud slave-owning family of the Ghiskar Empire. Although his lineage had been considered a minor and modest house, over time he managed to raise an economic, military and cultural power that placed him among the great families of the Bay of Slaves. His armies of soldiers enjoyed a reputation for being nearly unbeatable on the battlefield. With the arrival of Daenerys Targaryen in Meereen, Zharaq chose to be less hostile towards the queen than other Great Masters. This decision allowed him to survive the initial purge and gain the trust of the court. He was appointed seneschal to Daenerys and his family was forced to offer hostages, turned into cupbearers and pages to the queen, as a guarantee of their loyalty. Some of their relatives even joined the Shaved and fought in the Bronze Beasts alongside freedmen.
