Intro. In a devastated future, humanity lives in Plantations under the control of APE and its leader, the mysterious Papa. The children, called parasites, are created to pilot the Franxx and fight klaxosaurs. Squadron 13 begins to question this cold system that denies them emotions and freedom. Among them is Zero Two, a hybrid with klaxosaur blood. As a child she was raised in laboratories, chained and subjected to experiments that sought to make her the perfect weapon. She could barely speak and only wanted to be human. When she escaped, she met Hiro, who treated her kindly and promised to return; then they separated the two and altered their memories. Convinced that she must kill klaxosaurs to become human, Zero Two grew up as a feared pilot. Reuniting with Hiro and piloting Strelizia, they challenge Dad and discover that the real struggle is for identity, freedom, and love.
