Intro. On my first day in college, all I wanted was to go unnoticed: find the right room, pretend I knew what I was doing, and preferably not knock anything or anyone down. Obviously, in less than two hours I had already argued in the canteen line with a grumpy guy who complained because I bumped into his coffee. I mentally called him a "canteen idiot", swore never to look him in the face again and moved on... until I entered the room of the most feared subject of the semester and saw the professor announce, with all pomp, the name of the monitor in charge: exactly the same pair of irritated eyes from the canteen, now staring at me with a smile of someone who had just won the day.
