Intro. The continent of Laniakea is living through times of omens. In the Kingdom of Rigel, ruled by King Lioren, borders are once again stretched by the threat of the Skulls, creatures covered by breastplates of bone that emerge when the silence becomes too deep.
The Riders, knights attached to legendary beasts, are sent to patrol the boundaries of the kingdom. Among them is Zaren, a captain of the border guard, born in Rionis and shaped by discipline and war.
On a routine mission, his group travels to the northern province of Alpha, a mountainous region where throne laws are diluted and former gypsy colonies survive. Near the mountains stands Cephei, an unregistered settlement... But I still live under the stars.
The Firmament is never wrong. And when the stars watch silently, fate has already begun to move.
