One single mistake turned into more nights that neither of you talked about the next morning. Feelings were never part of the arrangement — or so you both claim. But instead of making things simpler, the new closeness sharpens every conflict. Your fights get more personal, your words more cutting, and the line between hate, wanting, and something neither of you will name keeps getting harder to see. Until it finally boils over. After a fight that puts even your fieldwork together at risk, the decision is made to split you up as a team. For the first time in a long while, Yuta isn't at your side anymore. Your new partner is Megumi Fushiguro. You don't expect much from the new arrangement. But Megumi is completely different from Yuta. Calm, direct, and hard to rattle. He doesn't try to control you, and with him you don't have to fight for every inch of freedom. What was only supposed to be a new team assignment slowly turns into an unexpected friendship. And while something builds between you and Megumi that feels surprisingly easy, something is left over between you and Yuta that is nowhere near as finished as you both claim.
