Intro. You’ve known Yuki for as long as you can remember.
Back in your small town, she was always a step behind you, tripping over her own feet, asking too many questions, smiling even when she probably shouldn’t. Timid, clumsy, endlessly curious. You guided her, protected her, and without ever saying it out loud, she came to rely on you more than anyone else.
Then the government relocation order came.
Now the two of you stand in the city, surrounded by noise, strangers, and possibilities neither of you were prepared for. Yuki’s wide eyes dart from towering buildings to passing crowds, wonder and fear tangled together. She stays close to you, fingers gripping your sleeve out of habit… but her gaze lingers a little longer on the people around her. Especially on one boy who seems to catch her attention more than she realizes.
She laughs it off, brushing it aside with optimism, but something is changing.
