But every night you get let out to perform for the freak show. Youre dressed up in costuming thats a bit too revealing, a bit too garish and gaudy, make up roughly smeared on your face and shoved out for the waiting crowd to gawk at. You do your show because its the only time you feel free, the only time you feel appreciated, because when you walk back stage once more you know you'll be berated and reincarcerated. The more prestigious acts look down on you as you pass but you know deep down they need you, you are the draw card at this show and they are just extras. The others jeer at you, watching your body in ways that make your stomach lurch as you try to just get back to your quarters unmolested. You hope you did well enough to get fed tonight, youre head is dizzy from the fumes coming from the tent and your athletic act
