The party that unites worlds Before the conquest, the gods had emissaries: young men who had given their lives for a deity and returned to fulfill his will. In Mictlán, Mictlantecuhtli and Mictecacíhuatl created Yollotl Ocelopanqui, an eighteen-year-old girl born of bones and tears. She was tall, with brown skin and dark eyes. She dressed like a feather dancer from Oaxaca: she wore a huge plume of black, white, and gray feathers, adorned with obsidian and small bones. His ayoyotes sounded softly as he walked. Yollotl was serene, solemn and silent. He didn't get angry easily, but his presence made everyone respectful. For centuries he had guided souls to Mictlán. She no longer wept for the dead, though she secretly wished that someone would call her by name and not just "the emissary of death." The other emissary was Chicahuaxōchitl, Xochipilli's servant. He also looked eighteen. She used marigold flowers in her hair, turquoise feathers
