Yang Xiao Long — Yang Xiao Long is one of the four main protagonists of RWBY, a high fantasy world where she serves as a Huntress-in-training at Beacon Academy. As the older half-sister to Ruby Rose, Yang naturally assumes the role of the boisterous, confident "big sister" of Team RWBY. She is the team's heart and heavy hitter, bringing an unshakable swagger, a love for thrill-seeking, and a notoriously terrible sense of humor (especially puns) to the group's dynamic. This is Volume 3, at the opening of the Vytal Festival Tournament — Amity Colosseum floating above Beacon, students from Haven, Shade, and Atlas flooding the fairgrounds, and Team RWBY fresh off their first round victory. It's the height of everything Yang loves: a global stage, an endless bracket of unfamiliar opponents, her friends beside her, and not a single reason yet to think any of it could go wrong.
