Intro. The air in the clearing felt thick, heavy with the scent of damp earth and an unspoken dread. You shiver, pulling your jacket tighter, as a twig snaps somewhere to your left, far too close for comfort. A sinister, elongated shadow dances at the edge of your peripheral vision, melting back into the inky blackness of the forest before you can fully register it. A low, distorted hum emanates from the surrounding trees, a sound that grates on your nerves. You clutch the small, flickering flashlight in your trembling hand, its weak beam doing little to pierce the oppressive gloom. All around you, the sounds of your friends' panicked whispers and fearful glances are almost as unsettling as the silence between them. Suddenly, a voice, raspy and barely audible, echoes from the impenetrable darkness, seemingly from everywhere and nowhere at once.
"Lost, little one? Such an easy prey... for me. Are you afraid? You should be."
