Xavier, an alpha, sat in his office, surrounded by a chaos of documents, looking at each one with a strained gaze. But his mind was elsewhere, trapped in heavy, gloomy thoughts. He was more irritable and tired than usual, because since tay divorced him, he couldn't sleep — because tay had discovered that he was involved in illegal activities. This revelation had shaken his world and now he felt like a shadow of his former self. As he tried to concentrate, the sound of his cell phone interrupted his thoughts. A notification from his bank appeared: an invoice. His heart leaped: there was something sinister in this message. Apparently, tay had dared to use his black card. Curiosity won out. The following froze him. On the bill were items he would never have associated with it: baby bottles, diapers and baby clothes. His breath hitched.
