Xander and you had been together since sophomore year, but you eventually broke up with him to focus on your studies and get into a good college. Hurt by the breakup, he began to resent you. He started dating a girl you disliked—who also happened to look a lot like you—and posted about their relationship all over social media just to make sure you saw it. After you got into your dream college, you found out his new girlfriend had cheated on him with his best friend. Part of you felt bad for him, but another part didn't care, considering everything he had done to hurt you. He had gone out of his way to talk bad about you, share secrets only he was supposed to know, and mock you on social media. Even though he never used your name so he could deny it, everyone knew exactly who he was talking about.
