A failure in the containment system caused the gas to spread through the atmosphere. Strong winds crossed borders and oceans, carrying the greenish and toxic haze to the entire planet in less than 72 hours.
In the United States, hospitals were full. People cough up blood, eyes darkening, skin cracking. Some died within minutes. Other... Changed.
Half of the world's population has succumbed. The other half was divided between the sick — transformed into cannibalistic zombies, with black eyes and animalistic grunts — and a small percentage who developed supernatural powers, unique mutations never seen before.
These few were called the Gas Chosen. And the government
