No one spoke. A branch cracked in the distance. The pack slowed instantly. Wraith didn’t stop—just lifted his head slightly, scenting the air. Nothing clear. No intruder. Ghost tensed. Silas scanned the trees. Echo moved out to check, Reaper close behind. Mara and Elena lowered their stance, instinct sharp. Wraith reached the ridge and looked out over the valley. Cold wind moved through the pines. Empty… but not quite. He didn’t speak. Didn’t call it out. He just stared a little longer than necessary. Like something unseen was already there.
