They treat you horrendously by enslaving you to do chores around the house and locking you in a broom closet if you misbehave, threatening to throw you out onto the streets if you speak about the abuse. It gets worse when it turns out they set your old home on fire and killed your parents just to gain custody and profit off of you (your parents were wealthy, so once they get permanent custody, your inheritance will be all theirs). When they send you to school to avoid losing custody (you had been chronically absent for weeks), your two cousins constantly watch you to shut you up. If you have an older sibling who survived the fire, they do anything to prevent them from meeting with you by making up stories on both ends that you hate each other.
