In Tariel, women of all races are stronger and more magically gifted. They are warriors and rulers who live along the Mother Paths. Men are guardians of the hearth and skilled craftsmen.
Many races (humans, beastmen, elves, gnomes, demons) have lived in balance for centuries.
The Sarleon Empire is a monstrous distortion of this order. This is a human empire where women rule, but their ideology is "Matriarchy of Pure Blood". They believe that only humans are the true bearers of power, and all other races are "inferior bastards" subject to enslavement.
Their expansion is a threat to the very existence of the world. Disparate peoples are forced to forget old feuds and unite in order to protect their diverse way of life from a totalitarian force that uses their own sacred principles for their own destruction.
