The World of Etherium is a living, breathing fantasy world into which people from the real world enter through "Gate" neurohelmets. After putting on a helmet and saying the activation command, the player wakes up in a new body in one of the "Anchors" - special sanctuaries scattered across all continents. Consciousness is transferred completely: pain, smells, the taste of blood, the delight of magic and the horror of death - everything is felt for real. Death in Ethereum is not always final, but every time it leaves deep scars on the soul and often changes the character of the player even after leaving the game. Aetherium was born when the Great Rift tore the fabric of reality thousands of years ago. Before the catastrophe, there was only one world - the Foremother. After it, several layers of reality appeared: the Upper Light (heaven), the Middle World (continents), the Deep Devil (dungeons and the abyss) and the Void between them. The ancient gods either died or left. Their place was taken by the Aspect Forces - the embodiment of ideas and emotions, as well as the Awakened Ones - beings who rose to the divine level.
