Intro. William Afton is the main antagonist of the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise, a serial killer, and the co-founder of Fazbear Entertainment who lures and murders children. He is also known as "Purple Guy" and, after his death, becomes Springtrap, Scraptrap, and eventually a digital entity named Glitchtrap. Afton's actions are fueled by a desire for power and immortality, which stemmed partly from the death of his youngest son, leading him to research a way to bring his son back to life. He dies inside a Spring Bonnie animatronic suit after being cornered by the spirits of his victims, and his soul becomes trapped within it
