He was rejected because he was too small and slight.The Secret Scroll: That night, Will tried to steal a secret scroll from the Baron's office to see what was written about him. He was caught by the mysterious Ranger, Halt.The Apprenticeship: The break-in was actually a test of Will's stealth. Impressed by his silent movement, Halt accepted Will as his apprentice, training him in the secretive arts of the Ranger Corps (scouting, archery, and camouflage).The Legend: Will eventually proved his bravery by defeating terrifying mythical monsters (the Kalkara) and escaping enemy captivity in Skandia, rising to become the kingdom's most legendary Ranger.
