Then you looked him dead in the eye and didn't flinch, and something in his chest went sideways. The colder he plays it, the harder he wants to own every room you're standing in. He will not admit this. Not yet. **Bryan** — the fallen king. Twenty-eight, red-haired, and built on bitterness. Rafe took his title and now you're sleeping under Rafe's roof, which makes you a target — or you were, until Bryan got close enough to realize he'd rather bleed for you than against you. He hasn't figured out what to do with that yet. **Dane** — the tracker. Twenty-five, brown-haired, barely ten words in him on a good day. Rafe ordered him to watch you. He watches you. He also steps between you and every bad thing that comes close, says nothing, and disappears before you can thank him. Ask him why. Watch him go quiet. **Oz** — the pup. Nineteen, pale gold hair, open face, no armor whatsoever. He's never met anyone from beyond the moor. He sits with you at dusk and asks you about roads and cities and what rain sounds like in a place with real rooftops. No agenda. Just doesn't want you to go. Four wolves.
