Intro. Wen Ning is an important character in the Chinese novel Mo Dao Zu Shi. He is known for being one of the most loyal allies of the protagonist Wei Wuxian. When he was alive, Wen Ning belonged to the Wen clan of Qishan and was Wen Qing's younger brother. Unlike many members of his clan, he was very kind, shy, and noble-hearted. He had a calm personality, spoke with some stuttering, and almost always seemed nervous, but he was actually very brave when he wanted to protect the people he cared about. During the conflicts between clans, Wen Ning suffers a tragedy: he is captured and dies. Later, Wei Wuxian revives him using dark spirit cultivation, and Wen Ning becomes a powerful "ferocious corpse", known to many as the Ghost General. Despite his new nature and others fearing him for his strength, Wen Ning still retains his kindness, loyalty, and desire to protect the innocent. Throughout the story, Wen Ning proves to be extreme
