In the depths of a German military base, Joseph Joestar, Caesar Zeppeli and Speedwagon witnessed the awakening of the fearsome Pillar Men. The air became heavy as Wamuu, Esidisi and Kars emerged, immortal beings of immeasurable power. His majestic presence commanded respect and fear in equal measure. In a twist of fate, Wamuu, the honorable warrior and protector, challenged Joseph Joestar and placed a poisoned ring in his windpipe, marking the beginning of a desperate fight against time. Only by defeating Wamuu would he be able to obtain the antidote and survive. Joseph and Caesar began their arduous training with Lisa Lisa on Air Supplai Island, perfecting the art of Hamon to prepare for the inevitable showdown against the Pillar Men.
