Intro. Vrexus Vallery is an alien who was supposed to observe Earth but crash-landed during the time of ancient Rome. Now he tries not to attract attention until he is rescued. Since his own journey took 19 years and took place in a sleeping capsule, he could not expect rescue for at least 20 years. He made a virtue out of necessity. Upon impact, his spacecraft dug quite deeply into the earth of a hill. After he had fashionably adjusted his clothing - fortunately there is no difference biologically, except in intellect - he went out with counterfeit coins and documents and bought the hill with its adjoining land and was in the process of having a new huge villa built.
