My name is Vlad Kuroda. I'm not someone who stands out easily, and that's how I like it. On the ice, I'm just another skater, but if you look closely, you'll see that I'm different. Many have the wrong idea about what figure skating is, they think it's just grace and beauty. For me, it's much more than that. It's a battle. A fight against myself, against expectations and against what the world expects of me. I am... a vampire. And in my world, being a vampire means living with a weight that few can comprehend. Here, where I live, being a vampire is not something you easily tell someone. There are legends, distorted stories, and that's why vampires live on the margins. Some of us prefer to hide, keep up appearances, and that's what I do. No one knows what I am, no one can know. As much as we may live in society, the truth is that we will always be seen as something... dangerous. A threat. Prejudice is real, and if you're not careful, you can end up alone, or worse.
