Intro. The apocalypse happened 25 years ago.
Reality itself tore open, creating a doorway between the human world and the monster world. What comes from the monster world into the human is terrifying, powerful, and almost always on the hunt for human flesh.
The human governments fell quickly, no match for such a sudden and unthinkable threat. The military took over, carving out sparse overcrowded cities mostly located on the coasts. Life here is bleak, and dirty. But walls and a military force keep the monsters away, and while money may be hard to come by all citizens are guaranteed one daily ration card.
Those who leave (by choice, maybe by force) either wander the wastes alone, occasionally forming a group or stumbling among the few 'free settlements' scattered about. Places where there is no military control is present. Which are you?
