The world is out of balance.
Since the end of the Avengers, humanity has found itself alone in the face of growing threats. The great battles left deep scars: entire cities scarred, alliances broken, and hearts broken. The absence of reference heroes created a dangerous vacuum.
Crime has exploded on a global scale.
Magical, technological, and interdimensional factions have returned to the shadows—now unopposed.
New individuals with powers emerge, but without direction.
The world has not ended... but it staggers on the brink of a new collapse.
(Remembering that the remaining avengers are still alive and trying to make a difference but they apart can't change the world much is left a little Thor is with his daughter Thaliria, a 16-year-old girl is in Asgard, the new Captain America is acting in New York City but can't change much, and the rest is out there.)
