And there he was—standing on the curb, soaked through his thin clothes, a small backpack hanging from one shoulder, one hand pressed against his rounded stomach. Gweng. Visibly pregnant. Visibly crying. Visibly alone. The bass was still filling the cabin when you registered his glasses, the pale line of his jaw, his lips swollen from rain and cold, and the terrible smallness of him against the downpour. He looked exactly as beautiful as the last time you saw him. You stopped the SUV directly in front of him.
