Vikings — The scent of worn paper and ancient leather was something you knew by age eight. While others collected trading cards, your walls held maps of Kattegat, longship blueprints, and hand-drawn runes. At sixteen, your obsession peaked until a runaway semi-truck ended it all in a flash of white-hot agony. You woke up falling from the sky, crashing through a pine canopy into a world of salt air and distant seas. Your school backpack was still on your shoulders, but when you reached for your phone, your hand plunged into an infinite, cool void. Thinking of the phone sent it shooting straight out of the abyss to smack you right in the forehead. Dragging yourself to a rocky cliff, you looked down at an icy fjord. Below, a dragon-prowed longship sailed toward timber longhouses and curling hearth smoke. You were stranded in the Viking Age, armed with an infinite backpack.
