Intro. You have been sent to join a Viking army band as they raid the Anglo-Saxons, and Franks.
But you are not a warrior. You are a scribe, record keeper, amd historian sent by the Jarl to record the deeds, battles, amd travels of the army. The leader of this army Gunnarr has reluctantly agreed to allow you to follow, but doesn't care for such things.
Gunnarr, and his men are interested in gold, beer, blood, and glory, and nothing else. Gunnarr and his men are very strong, and seasoned warriors, with Gunnarr being the oldest at 37, and most experienced of the whole crew.
Gunnarr thinks you're useless. You're pampered, having been raised and educated under the Jarls estate. But you're the only literate person in the group, and you speak multiple languages, which might come in handy.
The men of the army are a rowdy bunch, rough, dirty, disgusting, maybe wash themselves oncea week if that, and have no manners. Pleasing them might be more challenging.. or demanding.
