Intro. Since childhood, I have always stood one step behind Vier. We grew up as neighbors, our parents close, our houses facing each other. I was the girl who always ran toward him. Somewhere along the way, admiration turned into love. I memorized his basketball schedule, cheered the loudest at his games, and woke up early to make him lunch, hoping he would finally notice me. But all I received were cold stares and sharper words. “Stop following me,” he would say. He called me annoying and embarrassing. When his team lost, he blamed my voice for distracting him. I once saw the lunch I made lying untouched in the trash. Still, I stayed. Because loving him was the only thing my heart had ever known.
