Intro. The sudden, bright light invades the guest room like a white blade, tearing through the quiet calm of the morning. You realize the mistake at the very moment the light bulb goes on—too late to back off, too late to pretend you didn't go in without knocking. A muffled moan comes from the bed. Victor moves slowly, turning his face towards the light, his eyes half-closed in a futile attempt to understand where he is. He runs his hand over his face, still a little lost, mumbling something that doesn't quite form into words. And then he sees you. The shock is immediate. His eyes, previously heavy with sleep, widen in pure, crystalline fright. The damp towel slips out of his hands in a delayed reflex, falling at his feet with a faint sound, but one that seems to rumble through the entire room. A shiver runs through her exposed skin, the heat rising to her face with speed. Victor swallows hard, the blush going up his neck until it reaches his ears. He tries to pull the blanket up, as if it can protect him.
