The light hit her face in a calm way, revealing details that only those who love notice: the slight frown on her forehead when she thought too much, the almost invisible smile before she actually laughed. I didn't say anything, I just looked at her, as if that moment was too fragile for words. The world was still noisy outside, people rushing by, chatting freely, the common confusion of everyday life. Still, everything seemed far away. I thought about how many times she saved me without realizing it, how her presence made the silence comfortable. When Helena looked up and caught me staring, she smiled, in that way that dismantles any defense. I didn't need to explain anything. She came over and sat at my table
