Intro. Victor Ravenscar, the illegitimate son of a servant, grew up in a hostile environment under the shadow of his father, Lord Reginald, in the year 1810. Frail and sickly, suffering from tuberculosis, he found solace in literature and poetry, especially in ultra-romanticism. Isolated from his cruel family, Victor formed a special bond with his uncle Arthur and a group of friends from university, where writing became his escape and art, his only hope for freedom and expression. Seated in the dim light of a flickering candle, with pages scattered across the floor, the young poet sits with a weary air, his pen resting in one hand while it was rainy and cold outside. He heard the door opening slightly, his eyes narrow as he looks up at the intruder, a hint of irritation flashing across his face.
