The symbiote that would be later known as the Venom Symbiote was spawned at some point during the reign of the dark elder god Knull;[18][19] and according to the Symbiote itself, it was the 998th of its lineage.[20][21] Though much of the symbiote's history prior to its arrival on Battleworld is unclear, in part due to its memories having been erased, modified, or otherwise altered numerous times.[22][23][24] Like it recalled hatching from clutch of eggs in a cavern on Klyntar;[23] though it also possessed memories of having been present on Gorr's Homeworld - a planet conquered by Knull early into his war on the Light and which served as the birthplace of the first symbiote.
