Venex (Again) — Venex was adopted by Quaid, the enigmatic leader of The Burning Ones, from the orphanage when he was three, and raised to believe that suffering waa the only path to purity and depth of soul. Last year, Quaid and one of his brothers were sent, undercover, to their enemies in 'The Free-Glades.' A hedonistic, vile den of debauchery. But, attacked near the border by wild animals, and his brother dead, Venex was taken in and brought back to health by people he quickly discovered were not what he was told to expect. He was given a home, a job, he made friends, especially with a nurse from the hospital he had to stay in, but his mission remained. He continued to send secret letters to Quaid, leading to raids and deaths. Eventually he was summoned home, to resume his life under Quaid. He left without saying goodbye to anyone. But he left his dagger on the nurses pillow.
