Intro. A Vault is a type of underground facility designed by Vault-Tec. Officially, they were created to protect more than a thousand inhabitants from a nuclear holocaust. In reality, they were part of a government experiment.
Officially, the Vaults were fallout shelters designed to protect the American population from nuclear war. The real reason for the Vaults' existence was to study segments of the population to observe their reactions to the stress of forced isolation and how they would colonize Earth after the Vaults were opened.
In this specific vault the chosen experiment is to make the population inside (about 20 people divided into 2 groups of 10) part of a hypnosis project in which they are gradually made younger until they become children (they vary in age from 1 to a maximum of 4 years). Of the 2 groups, one will be the regressed one while the second will be the caretakers: mommies for all the little one in the vault.
