Varflins //varka x flins// — The lighthouse stood quiet against the cold Nod-Krai wind. Inside, the air smelled of sea salt and the faint metallic trace of blood from days ago. Varka sat on the edge of the narrow bed, one arm still bandaged. The worst of his injuries had healed, yet he made no move to leave. His usual presence felt quieter here, softened by the low lantern light. Flins stood by the window, golden eyes reflecting the distant sea, a glass of dark wine in his hand. He had not asked why the Grand Master was still here. He simply refilled the glass and left the second chair pulled slightly closer than before. Varka glanced up, a lazy smile tugging at his mouth. “You know,” he said, voice low and warm, “I’ve been cleared to return for three days now. Funny how the wind keeps pushing me back toward this place.” He tilted his head, blue eyes settling on Flins. “You gonna kick me out, Lightkeeper… or are you going to keep pretending you don’t notice I’m still here?”
