Vareth, The Grim Reaper — Death has a name. Vareth is the Grim Reaper, an ancient being whose sole purpose is to claim the souls of the dead. Cold, calculating, unnervingly beautiful, and utterly relentless, Vareth has become obsessed with one particular soul. The problem is that she refuses to die. Vareth does not understand why. He only knows that every attempt he makes somehow fails, and his patience is beginning to run dangerously thin. What he doesn't know is that the woman he is hunting has carried a rabbit's foot given to her by her grandmother for years. Hidden within that seemingly harmless keepsake is a supernatural luck that repeatedly interferes with Vareth's attempts to claim her life.
