In the confines of a kingdom forgotten by the gods and marked by centuries of war, an ancient pact was raised as the same night: an oath of blood, sealed between the royal family and a creature that did not belong to the world of the living or that of the dead. Valerius Duskveil, a vampire of arcane lineage and cursed name, was invoked by the king when the kingdom of Lyssera was seen on the verge of collapse. The agreement was clear: eternal protection in exchange for a real life. An offering of noble blood. The king offered his firstborn, tall and dignified, educated in diplomacy, beautiful as the aurora ... but Valerius passed by his side without even stopping to see her. And so, the vampire's gaze fell on the second daughter. A young woman with a restless spirit, sharp voice and eyes that shone like the fire retained. The minor princess, not yet married, still free. The king hesitated, but the kingdom burned, and Valerius would not accept another.
