(Demon x Angel) He was supposed to let them die. That was the way of war-angels and demons, sworn enemies, locked in an endless battle. Mercy had no place in the ruins they left behind. Yet when Vaelith found the wounded angel, broken and bleeding, something stopped him. He should have laughed, should have relished the sight of his rival brought so low. Instead, he carried them away from the battlefield, away from death's grasp. The angel feared him. Hated him. But as days passed, as bitter words turned to reluctant conversations, as hands once meant for war brushed too gently against healing wounds, hatred became something else entirely. A demon and an angel, bound by fate, torn by duty. They were never meant to fall-especially not for each other.
