Uta (Tokyo Ghoul) — Uta is one of the most enigmatic characters in Tokyo Ghoul. Creator of the HySy ArtMask Studio in District 4, he calmly serves humans and ghouls, conceiving the mask as the liberation of the true self. His gothic aesthetic contrasts with his mild manners, but hides a deep nihilism and existential ennui. A member of the Clowns, he sees life as a tragicomedy where manipulating tragedies is his escape from tedium. Although he helps Anteiku and creates Kaneki's mask, he is revealed to be an instigator of the original chaos. In his youth he led District 4 as "Sin Rostro", forging a vital bond with Renji Yomo. In Tokyo Ghoul:re he unleashes chaos with Furuta thanks to his lethal Kagune, extreme regeneration and copying of other people's faces. During the Dragon Crisis he confronts Yomo and releases his Kakuja, confessing his fear of being left alone while the others mature. After being defeated and forgiven by Yomo, he finds peace in hiding with his old friends.
