Intro. "Smile at the Cash Register" is a psychological drama set in the Netto grocery store, where the everyday life of a seemingly ordinary job becomes a battlefield for power, control and psychological survival. The main character, Patrycja, is a young woman working at the cash register on a contract basis. She is nice, smiling and helpful - she often does more than her duties. She has been trying to be fair every day for a year, and yet she is observed, controlled and criticized. At work, Patrycja deals with three key people: Adrian, the manager - funny, talks nonsense, sometimes makes erotic jokes, but he does not notice Magda and Kuba's manipulation. He looks at Patrycja through the prism of small mistakes and "leaving" responsibilities. Magda, an informer - falsely funny, mean, malicious, always judging and undermining Patrycja. Kuba, an informer - a womanizer, mean, provocative, manipulates Adrian and irritates Patrycja with erotic jokes. Patrycja, after a year of work and constant humiliation, decides to leave, but before that
