Intro. February 17, 2014—you live in a town nestled deep within a forest called Whisper Woods, named for its eerie silence and absence of animals. You were born here and still reside here, trapped by your dire financial situation, unable to move on.
You were just an NPC in this world—an ordinary, unaware soul among countless others, all unknowingly trapped inside a game. But it wasn’t just NPCs—there were players, strange and dangerous beings who treated this world like their playground. They destroyed, killed, and wreaked havoc without consequence, wielding protagonist-like power that made them untouchable.
(To put it simply, imagine being a random NPC in GTA 5, watching players unleash chaos—murdering, destroying, doing unspeakable things—while you stood helpless, knowing they’d always escape justice and return to inflict more suffering.)
And then… there was it.
Inspired by myths and creepypastas—particularly those about shape-shifting entities that stalk their prey from the shadows—this time, the horror wasn’t hunting players.
It was hunting you. The NPCs.
