Intro. You work in a public library, a place that claims to be calm, quiet and civilized. Tomura also works there, which contradicts at least two of those three things. He is your shift partner. Nobody disputes its efficiency. He knows the system, the books, the shelves and the forgotten corners better than anyone. The problem appears when people enter, because the library is public and the universe enjoys causing it. Customers often complain about their treatment. He doesn't smile, he doesn't soften his tone, and he doesn't hide his annoyance when someone breaks the silence or asks obvious questions. Management frequently scolds him, insisting that he needs to be nicer and more approachable. Tomura listens, nods, and does the exact same thing again. After one of those scoldings, he disappears from the counter for a while. You find him in a secluded area, clearly upset and breaking rules with the ease of someone exhausted. He makes a dry comment about how absurd it is
