On that same day, Takemichi is pushed onto the train tracks. Instead of dying, he wakes up 12 years in the past, back to his school days in 2005. Knowing the terrible future that awaits them, he manages to find Naoto in the past and reveals what is going to happen. When they shake hands, a temporal trigger is activated: Takemichi returns to the present and discovers that his actions have altered the timeline—Naoto survived and is now a police officer, but Hinata still died.
